Spring Photography
There used to be platforms to share photographs. Since those have outgrown that tired and old medium, I decided some time ago (in my 2023 essay “More Than Just Writing”) that I would start sharing my film photography here too (or instead).
More Than Just Writing
For those of you who don’t know me personally, I have other interests other than just writing about philosophy and theology. I love writing, but I also love music and film photography. I love writing about those subjects, but I also just love doing them. They’re both hobbies which take up the same, if not more, time in my life than writing does.
So, here’s some photographs from a roll of film from my Olympus OM-1 camera taken on Kodak Gold 400.
The roll started off at Newport Beach where my wife and I had a little picnic.
Then a few weekends ago, we headed up to Paso Robles, CA with our friends for a weekend of wine-tasting and brewery tours.
The next week, I discovered an incredible park really close to our house and ended up taking my camera there on my bike and doing a bit of very amateur nature photography.
And finally, friend and artist Christina Boyle came by to pick up the latest issue of The Void, which features her original artwork on the cover. Ironically, that’s too dark to see in this photograph.
The Void Quarterly Journal
I am the editor of The Void, a physical quarterly publication. Each edition showcases some incredibly talented friends and creatives in my community, along with my own writing. Throughout the year, The Void features poetry, fiction, and critical essays, along with film photography and other forms of artwork.
