In 2015, I was to take part in a Valentine’s Day Concert. The song I intended to sing was not permitted because of some of its lyrics.
This annoyed me—rather a lot. And for some reason, my response was to record and release a different song: Joan of Arc by Leonard Cohen. I’m not sure why, but sometimes things happen that way. So I got a few friends together and we recorded a cover of Leonard Cohen’s Joan of Arc, and I released it on Valentine’s Day ten years ago. There it has sat in relative obscurity ever since. So, given that its 10-year anniversary is here, I thought I’d re-release it here on Substack. Take a listen, enjoy, and Happy Valentine’s Day.
